Cozumel wants to position itself as a world-class wedding destination


Pablo Alfonso Aguilar Torres, promotion manager of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo, explained that the Love Mexico Riviera Maya event was used to invite tour operators to know the potential of the destination in this market niche. Cozumel has been trying to position itself in the wedding tourism segment for several years.

“We are looking for a strategic alliance with the IADWP, which has given a very wide exposure of our destination with the intention of including us in the events throughout next year and they all agree that Cozumel has everything to be a perfect destination for wedding tourism, “he said.

Maya train will be up and running in 4 years

 

The work began with the rehabilitation of 800 kilometers of railways that were previously used to transport products in the region. On the grounds of the old airport of Palenque, which will be a Civic Plaza and the main Maya Train station in Chiapas, before members of 12 indigenous ethnic groups who previously made a ritual, AMLO added: “the southeast has been the most abandoned region. Now it’s time to do something about it. ”Accompanied by Yucatecan Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, he explained that the passenger train will provide services to native peoples at a cheaper cost per passenger.

The first stage of the construction of the Mayan train, corresponding to the Yucatan section, will start in 2019 with works in 93 kilometers, from the stateline of Calkiní, Campeche, all the way to Mérida.

Three hotels will generate 5,000 jobs in Cancun

The construction of three lodging centers in Cancun will generate 5,000 jobs during the first quarter of the year, two thousand of them direct and three thousand indirect, for members of the Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants (Confederación Revolucionaria Obrera y Campesina CROC).

Mario Machuca Sánchez, leader of the CROC in Quintana Roo, mentioned that one of the projects is Renaissance in Puerto Cancún, which construction is about to be finished and will begin operations shortly. Although it is a small hotel, it has only 200 rooms. The second project is Royalton in the hotel zone, with 400 rooms; and the third is Haven Riviera Cancún, which, although it was already inaugurated, has yet to be completed with 150 extra rooms. The tourism sector represents 40,000 sources of employment for the CROC, and there will be more contracts next year, and according to the promoters of Cancun’s Golden Mile, there will be at least five new hotel complexes in the area

Mexico also fares well for general happiness, placing 24th in the 2018 World Happiness Report above Brazil, Argentina, Singapore, Spain and Italy.

Healthy eating
The traditional Mexican diet, while flavourful, can easily be very healthy. With many major cities around the world, fast food and supermarkets are widespread, but so are specialist shops and markets, where locally produced goods are in strong supply. Not only can locally-sourced food work out cheaper, it offers a much healthier option than processed foods and is a great way to break old habits.

Healthcare

While the quality of care is generally considered to be good, private healthcare provides shorter waiting lists and high-quality facilities. Private hospitals expect cash payments that can later be recouped by the individual from their insurer at a later date, making it vital to ensure you have international health insurance and financial resources before travelling. A good indicator of the balance of value and quality offered by private care in Mexico is the increasing popularity of health tourism from America, who often pay 20-30% of the cost of the equivalent procedure at home.
