Cozumel readies for arrival of nearly 10,000 cruise ship passengers in one day

 

 

With a week scheduled for 17 arriving cruise ships, six of them will arrive today. The island of Cozumel is expecting around 10,000 cruise ship visitors during the day of June 8 with the arrival of six ships.

Earlier this week, only four ships docked at the island, which included Disney Fantasy at the Punta Langosta on Monday and Symphony of The Seas, Carnival Paradise and Carnival Valor on Tuesday.. Read more>>>

“On April 15, 2022, Ana Arana Martin, Andres Maillard, and Meybol Nataly witnessed an impressive event which was recorded with a cell phone,” shared Charlie Castro, author of the video.

“We were on a boat sailing the area known as Cielito quite far from the shore when we saw a Hammerhead Shark that was chasing a stingray! They passed right under our boat and we were all impressed, ” Charlie wrote as an explanation to the clip.. Read more>>>

 

Xcaret to start Cozumel to mainland route within three months

It will likely be another three months before Xcaret begins operating its Cozumel route. The company says they continue to wait for two smaller vessels to arrive, which is taking time.

Carlos Constance Madrazo, vice president of Grupo Xcaret, said they will begin to operate from Cozumel to their seaside theme parks once the boats arrive in two to three months. Currently, the company operates two 650-passenger vessels from Isla Mujeres to its Torre Escénica del Embarcadero at the start of the Cancun Hotel Zone.

In December of last year, the company was given authorization to berth on the island. Since then, Grupo Xcaret has been given approval to run its two vessels from Cozumel to the mainland..Read more>>>
