Cozumel hoping to be state’s fourth Magic Town

Cozumel, Q.R. — Cozumel Mayor Juanita Alonso Marrufo is taking steps for the island to become a recognized Magic Town. A virtual meeting was held with authorities from the Quintana Roo Tourism Secretariat (Sedetur) in order to meet the necessary requirements.

Magic Town is a program developed by the Mexican Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) and various government agencies which recognizes cities or towns for their efforts to protect and preserve its cultural wealth.

Marrufo thanked the government of Mara Lezama Espinosa, because through the Secretary of Tourism, Bernardo Cueto Riestra and the Director of Tourism Product Development, Beatriz Eugenia Alamilla Cruz, she facilitated in the process.
