Zofemat looking to spend 1.3 million on Cozumel viewpoint repairs
Zofemat plans to invest $1.3 million in rehabilitating four eastern Cozumel viewpoints. While funding is secured, the project awaits municipal permits due to the locations being within protected areas. Director Irwin Javier Batún Alpuche stated they are assessing the viability of switching to plastic-based timber, requiring approvals from Ecology and Conanp, alongside plans to construct sargassum watch towers.
